My Infinix Hot 2 smartphone is powered by Android 5.1 Lollipop and it comes with Dual SIM support. I can set the default SIM for making calls, sending text messages and for cellular data. I can also set it in a way that whenever I want to place a call, I will be asked which SIM to use.

To set your preferred SIM in Infinix Hot 2, follow the steps below:

==> Launch the “Settings” app
==> Tap on “SIM Cards”

==> Tap on “Cellular data” option and select your preferred SIM
==> Tap on “Calls” option and select your preferred SIM or “Ask every time” option

==> Tap on “SMS messages” option and select your preferred default SIM for sending sms

That’s all.

Kindly note that you might not be able to send SMS if you select “Ask every time” option for “SMS messages” as explained here. So, set a preferred SIM for it.

Using QuickTeller Classic App is the easiest way to buy airtime, pay bills and transfer money with your ATM card in Nigeria. It works with your current Verve card issued by any bank in Nigeria.

For you to make use of the app, you need to download Quickteller app to your mobile phone. You can search Google Play Store, Blackberry app world or the Apple app store for ‘Quickteller Classic” NOT “Quickteller” because both might be listed there. I will talk about how to use the second app in another post.

Once installed, you will be required to activate it by entering your phone number. Once you receive the code, enter it in the space provided and tap “Activate“.

Next step is to register your Verve ATM card with the app so you won’t have to enter the card details everytime you want to complete a transaction.

To register your card, click on “Remember your verve card” button, select the “At the ATM” option and follow the instruction when you go to a nearest Automated Teller machine to complete the registration.

Registered cards will be listed whenever you launch the app. The name of the issuing bank and the last 2 digits of the registered cards will be displayed.

Once your card is listed, you can complete any of the transaction on the app using the card. Convenience fees might apply though when completing some transactions. No need for token, No need for OTP.

How To Use QuickTeller To Transfer Money

If you want to use Quickteller app to transfer money, launch the app and tap “Skip to proceed’. Then, tap “Transfer to bank account“.

Enter the details of the account you want to send money to; the amount you want to send and tap “Next”

Select one of the cards you’ve registered with the app and enter the CVV2 and PIN of the card to complete the transfer.

That’s all.

CVV2 is the last 3 digits at the back of your ATM card
PIN is the PIN you use on ATM.

Yesterday, my friend, Joseph was happy to inform me that he has purchased for himself, the infinix hot 2 Android phone. I asked him for his Blackberry z10 and he told me that he sold the z10 to buy the infinix Hot 2.

Asked him why and I was shocked when he told me that he sold it because he couldn’t download apps from google play store on the Blackberry z10. Just Imagine!

By the time I finished explaining to him how to download and use Android apps on Blackberry z10, he felt so stupid for selling his beloved z10 all because of his ignorance. I wonder how many Blackberry 10 users would have done same.

Well, as at the time of publishing this, you CANNOT download apps from Google Play store on your Blackberry 10 phone.

For you to use any Android app listed on Google Play, you have to google for it’s apk file. It is the apk file you will have to download and install on your BB. eg  You can google for “Instagram apk“, “Flash Share apk” etc

There are lots of sites out there that let you search and download apk files of Android apps. eg 1mobile.com, apktrain.com, apkcraft.com.  Just visit those sites in your blackberry browser, search for your android apps and download.

Manual configuration of Infinix hot 2 with APN internet settings of MTN, Airtel, Etisalat and Glo Nigeria is quite easy and straight forward. If you get it right, you can start browsing on your Infinix hot 2 x510 without any delay.

You only have to ensure you know the correct Access Point Name settings of the network you want to configure for internet browsing on the Infinix Hot 2 smart phone. Entering the wrong APN will make it difficult for you to browse even if you have subscribed to a data plan.

To configure your phone manually, follow the steps below:

Instantly, I tweeted at @gtbank on Twitter, asking for an online form I could use to link my Bank Verification Number (BVN) to my GTBank account but was surprised when I was told that I must visit the nearest Guaranty Trust Bank branch to get it done. No online BVN linker for GTBank GAPS account holders.

Yesterday, I traveled almost 2 hours to get it sorted at a GTbank branch. I was given a BVN form to fill in which I provided the BVN number that was issued for me for my GTbank savings account.

My request was processed and I received an email this morning, informing me that the account restriction has been removed.

So, if you’re running a corporate account at GTBank, visit the nearest branch to link your BVN to your account.

Please remember that you can always retrieve your BVN details by simply dialing *565*0# from the phone number used for your BVN registration. Your BVN gives you a unique identity that can be verified across the Nigerian Banking Industry and protects your account from unauthorized access.
