Yesterday, I shared how I root Infinix Zero Android phone using Kingroot app. So, in this post, I am sharing with you how to unroot your Android phone, if you’ve also rooted it with the KingRoot tool.

How To Get Started

The steps below will also remove KingUser from your smartphone.

==> Delete or Uninstall KingRoot and KingMaster (the one in chinese) from your smartphone
==> Open the KingUser app and tap the settings icon at the top right corner as indicated below:

==> Tap on “Root authorization setting”

==> Tap on “Remove root permission”.

==> In the pop-up window that appears, click “clear”

==> Thereafter, KingUser will be removed automatically

You can also restart your phone.

Use the root checker here to confirm if you no longer have root access.

Sharing apps between Android phones is very easy using the ShareCloud app for Android. The app also lets you quickly share music, photos, documents, videos, files on your Android device with another Android device.

To share files with another Android, ShareCloud app must have been installed on both devices.

If installed on your Android phone but not on the Android of your friend, you can as well easily invite your friend to download the app via bluetooth, WiFi or by sharing the download link with him/her. To do this, launch the app and tap “Invite to ShareCloud” using the “Share to Offline” option.

Once the app is installed on both Androids, you can start sharing files without internet connection. Now, let me assume you want to share a file with a friend.

Just follow the steps below:

==> Launch ShareCloud app on your Android
==> Tap “Share To Offline”

==> Tap “SHARE > Select File”

==> Tap the file(s) you want to share to select them

==> Tap “Face-to-Face Send” button.

Thereafter, you should see something similar to this:

==> Now, tell your friend to launch ShareCloud on his Android, tap “Share to Offline” and tap “Face to Face Receive” button.

Your phone should appear on his ShareCloud as seen below:

==> Tell your friend to tap on your phone name to select it.

Both will connect and notification will be displayed once the files are sent successfully.

How Do I View Files Received View ShareCloud App?

If you want to view the files you’ve received via Sharecloud app, tap the icon indicated in the screenshot below.

You can also view them by navigating to the ShareCloud folder using the File Manager app on your Android device.

Repost (also known as a retweet, reblog, or share depending on your social site of choice) on Instagram is a feature that is not yet officially available as at the time of publishing this post. Nevertheless, you can repost something someone else uploads by making use of reposting apps.

If you don’t want to use reposting apps, there is also a way out and that is what I will be sharing with you in this post. The trick simply involves capturing, cropping and reposting an image to Instagram.

Once you come across an amazing Instagram photo you would like to share with your followers, take a screenshot, crop it, and upload it to your Instagram.

On iPhones and iPads, you can take screenshots by pressing the Power button and the Home button simultaneously. On Androids, the process varies from phone to phone. So, you have to figure it out.

After taking the screenshot, open it in the photo app on your device, tap “options”, select “Crop”.

Crop the screenshot so that it looks like an actual photo instead of a screenshot of a photo. Do not crop out the username of the person who originally posted it.  After cropping the image, upload it to Instagram.

You can tag the original poster of your screenshot by tapping “Tag People,” or give them a shout-out in the caption. A caption such as “Re-posted from @username” or “Thanks @username for the post!” would do. The original poster will be notified of the mention and will likely appreciate it.

I didn’t find this funny when I subscribed to some podcasts using my iPad whose wiFi is connected to my glo Blackberry subscription hotspot.  My BIS was almost exhausted before I could know whatsup…

Good news is that you can turn off Apple PodCasts App Auto-Download for all Podcasts via “Settings” and you can as well do this from the settings of each podcast you subscribe to.

To STOP All Subscribed Podcast channels from auto downloading,

==> Tap on “Download Episodes”
==> Select “OFF”

If you prefer to STOP background download for a specific podcast channel,

==> Launch the “Podcasts” app
==> Tap “My Podcasts”

This is part of an on-going initiative to bring high-quality smartphones to millions of people in Asia, Africa and other parts of the world. These phones are now available for purchase in Egypt, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Morocco and Nigeria.

I have this HP All-in-One Deskjet 3050 J610 series printer which I use at home. The ink in the two cartridges have dried up. So, I bought a new black cartridge so I can keep using the printer.

After I replaced the old cartridge with the new one, I was able to print and photocopy documents in black and white. Few days later, the printer stopped working; keeps showing an error message that the tricolor cartridge is bad, even after removing the cartridge from the printer. I couldn’t print at all…

It was so frustrating that I contacted a friend that sells printers to confirm if the printer can’t work without the tricolor cartridge. He told me it can, that the printer should work even if it is only the black cartridge that is inside the printer.

So, I went back home to figure out what might be wrong. While troubleshooting, I decided to try cleaning the compartment of the tricolor cartridge using a cotton wool. The place was messed up with ink leaked out from the spoilt cartridge.

After cleaning it, and tricolor cartridge removed from the printer, the single-cartridge mode was automatically initiated and the printer started printing again.

That’s it.

So, if you’re experiencing similar problem, try cleaning the cartridge compartment and remove the cartridge so as to initiate single-cartridge mode.

Note   When the HP All-in-One operates in single-cartridge mode, a message is displayed on screen. If the message is displayed and two print cartridges are

installed in the product, verify that the protective piece of plastic tape has been removed from each print cartridge. When plastic tape covers the print cartridge contacts, the product cannot detect that the print cartridge is installed.

Taking screenshot on my Infinix hot 2 is quite easy. The process is the same as how I take screenshots in Infinix Zero Android phone. Once you take a screenshot, it’s automatically saved on your smartphone and you can easily access it via the “Photo” app.

To take a Screenshot on your Infinix Hot 2 Android phone, hold down the lower volume button and power button simultaneously till you hear a click sound.

Thereafter, a framed image will appear and “saving screenshot” will be displayed in the notification bar.

The volume button is located at the right hand side of the phone and the power button is directly below it.

Screenshots taken on your Infinix Hot 2 are saved in the “Screenshots” folder in the “Photo” app. Right there, you can edit the screenshots and share with your loved ones using the available sharing options on your smartphone.

RAM (acronym for random access memory) is the temporary workspace where instructions are executed and data are processed. It is a very important spec to be considered when shopping for smartphones as it determines to some extent, how fast your smartphone will be. Kindly note that RAM is different from internal storage.

How Do I Find Out How Much RAM I Have On My Android Phone?

You can easily find out by using a mobile app eg AnTuTu Benchmark.

Download and Install AnTuTu Benchmark on your Android phone. Open it and tap the “Info” tab. You will see the actual size of the RAM and other specs of your Android phone.

When I was in doubt whether my Infinix Hot 2 is a 2gb ram android phone or 1gb ram android phone, I used the AnTuTu Benchmark v5.7.1 to confirm that it is truly a 2gigs RAM Android One smartphone.

On my Infinix Zero, I was able to check the RAM without the app by going to “Settings”> “All” > “Storage and memory”. Right there, I was able to see the Total RAM memory and the available RAM memory.

I’ve read at some forums too that you can also use “System Info for Android” (aka “Android System info” ) and “Cool Tool – system stats” mobile apps to check how much RAM memory you have on your Android phone.

Kindly note that some phone manufacturers print the size of the RAM memory on the box. So, you can check it there before unboxing……

A friend bought an HP Compaq desktop computer for himself and asked if it is possible to connect it to Wireless networks for internet browsing. I told him it is possible if he can get a USB wireless adapter.

He was able to get the TP-LINK Wireless USB adapter and it worked perfectly for him. Now, he shares his Blackberry internet with his desktop computer via hotspot.

Below is the picture of the Wireless USB adapter.

He bought the TP-LINK Wireless USB adapter at a computer store here in Nigeria for N4,000.

He was given a CD to install the drivers of the adapter on the desktop but the CD was useless as the drivers were not compatible with the hardware.

So, I helped him to download the TP-LINK Wireless USB adapter driver here. The TL-WN725N V2 driver worked perfectly for the hardware.

All you just need to do is to unzip the downloaded file to your PC. Plug in the wireless USB device and let it install itself. If it’s unable to install, go to “Device Manager” on the computer and use the “Update driver” option to search the unzipped folder for the compatible driver for the hardware.

Once installed successfully, you will notice a blue light flashing on the hardware when plugged to a USB port on the computer.

If you check the “Network Connections” on the computer, you should now see a “Wireless Network Connection”. Right click on it and click “connect..”. Connect to the Wireless network you want to connect to and enjoy.

After setting up my dual SIM Infinix Hot 2 smartphone powered by Android One and Android 5.1 lollipop, I couldn’t send sms using the “Messenger” app not until I set a preferred SIM for SMS messages via the “Settings” app.  

“No Preferred SIM Selected for Sending SMS Messages” keeps popping up everytime and SMS won’t send even after long pressing the send button to select the SIM to use.

So, if you’re experiencing same problem, all you need to do is to set a preferred SIM for SMS messages.

To do this,

==> Launch the “Settings” app
==> Tap “SIM Card”
==> Tap “SMS Messages” option under “Preferred SIM for :”
==> Select the SIM card you want to set as the preferred SIM.

Thereafter, go to the ‘Messenger” app to send your messages.

If you want to use the second SIM, long press the “Send” icon and select it before sending the message.

If you are using Infinix Hot 2 running Android 5.1 lollipop, you don’t have to save a phone number in the contacts list before you can send a text message to the phone number. Although, the process is not as straight forward as it was in older versions of the Android OS.

In this tutorial, I will share two ways you can go about it.

Method One

==> Launch the “Phone” app
==> Tap the “back” icon as indicated in the screenshot below :

==> Tap the “Recents” tab
==> Tap the number that called you, which you want to text
==> Tap the image icon that appears by the side of the phone number (Very important!)
==>  Tap the “message” icon as indicated in the screenshot below :

==> Type your SMS and send.

Method Two

==> Launch the “Phone” app
==> Tap the “back” icon as indicated in the screenshot below :
==> Tap the “Recents” tab
==> Tap the number that called you, which you want to text
==> Tap “details”
==> Tap the three-dots-icon on the upper right of the action bar, and tap “Edit number before call”.
==> Tap the three-dots-icon that appears to the left of the number, and choose “Send SMS“.
